Stationing

Stationing is a method of measuring along a linear route. For example, maybe you want to develop plans along a section of highway that is 10,000 feet long. The beginning station could start at 0+00 and the ending station would be 100+00, where as station 1+00 is 100 feet from the starting point, 10+00 is 1,000 feet from the starting point and so on. Its a fairly easy way to keep track of where you're at along the route.
