Land Survey

A land survey of a particulary piece of property consist of: 1. the research of various historical documents 2. the field search for existing monumentation on and off of the subject property 3. proving or establishing property corner locations based on deed interpretation, legal precedent, and experience. 4. setting of physical monuments to show property corner and boundary line location 5. Drawing of a survey plat to reflect the work performed

So, a land survey is the culmination of various disciplines to determine boundary location in a way that is defendable in court if need be.
